Hello, I have a quick question. My old system is getting better passmark scores than my new one. The Memory, Harddrive, and cpu read/writes are terrible compared to the old one. Is it that Im running 32bit windows on my 64bit CPU? any input would be appreciated.

What would cause this rig

AMD Athlon 64bit 3000+
1GB Corsair XMS platinum
DFI Lanparty nf4 sli-dr
Radeon x800xl 256mb
XP Pro 32bit edit.

to run worse than my old rig:

Amd Athlon xp 2800
1GB Corsair XMS platinum
Asus A7N8X-e Deluxe
Geforce 5200 128mb
XP Pro 32bit edit.

No..running 32-bit windows on a 64-bit capable CPU shouldn't affect your performance. Have you checked to see if you have a virus or something?

You're going to find 98% of everyone who has an X2 or Athlon 64 running a 32-bit OS.

new install, could it be that the 3000+ is only 1.8ghz and the 2800 is like 2.18ghz? could the cpu make that big of a difference in the memory and hd transfer rate?

Comparing passmark scores, it takes significantly longer for the newer machine to access files, and read and write from ram.
