XP 64bit for gpu folding machine?

Does anyone use windows XP PRO 64 bit for their folding box?

I am building a new folding machine and want to use XP since i am going to run it completey headless with 2-4 GPU's and i have 4GB 2x2GB of ram i got for a great deal I am going to use and would like 64bit OS to use all of it.

Does XP64bit have all the needed video drivers and does it have any other problems i should know about or should i just use the good old 32 bit version?

If it is just a folding rig......

I'm running 2 - 9800Gx2 (total of 4 cores) on 2 gb of RAM.

I would not waste the ram imho

XP-64 does double duty for me. Both CPU(1)&GPU(1-8800gtx) running on my daily abuse pc. No problems noted so far.

4gb for a headless GPU boxen seems excessive as Kendrak noted.

sure are - pay attention whe grabbing them as it's an easy slip of the mouse to grab the 32bit variants and the "DOH" moment 10 minutes after downloading and trying to install wrong drivers...

There are updated drivers here, just make sure you do select XP-64

These are the 177.84 drivers, I'm using them, they work fine.

I have to use XP-64 on my big GPU rig as Vista-64 won't work with 4x 9800GX2 cards.

You can run upto 4 GPU clients off 1 CPU core under XP without a loss of points.

What hardware specs are you aiming for ??

If its going to be a pure GPU box then the 45 watt Brisbane in a MSI K9A2 Plat MoBo with 2Gb ram and 4x vid cards is the best base hardware to run in terms of PpDpWatt.

If its going to be a mixed GPU and SMP box then XP is better than Vista as VMWare server work on bootup.
Under Vista you need to bootup in unsigned driver mode for it to work.

I am running XP x64, 6.22beta2 console client on core 1, GPU2 client on core2 and 9600GT, using latest CUDA enabled nVidia drivers...no problems, folding monster.

I am folding on X64 using an AMD4850 with out problems.
