I am at a loss for words... I just switched from a SLK948U (Vantec Tornado 92mm 119 CFM) to a XP-120 (YS Tech 120MM 125CFM) and my CPU temp went up 8 degrees! I used AS5 on both installations and everything else remained the same. Could I have done something wrong or was the SLK just out performing the XP-120? I have installed many heatsinks, and I did nothing different.
My specs:
MSI Neo Plat (754)
A64 3400NC @ 2.65 @ 1.6v
CPU Temp at load - SLK 948 - 49-50c
CPU Temp at load - XP-120 - 58c
No difference in ambient temperatures.
I would hate to go through the trouble to change back to the SLK948, since I have to take the MB out of the case, change the backplate, and tie all the wires up again, but 8 degrees is a significant difference!
Thanks in advance!
