I bought a Xonar DG. I'm trying to use the optical out with my external dac, but it does not work. My external dac and amp are fine.

I can't find anything on the internet about this except to check the drivers. I'm running 7.12.8.1790.

In the control panel, I have the xonar dg playback device set to default, but i can't hear the test tone.

In the asus xonar control panel, under Main, I have the SPDIF Out box checked, and PCM selected (only option available there).

Analog works fine. How do I get digital to work too ?

Specs:
Xonar DG (yeahh)
Intel E8400
G.Skill 4x2gb DDR2 800
Asus P5Q Deluxe
XFX GTS 250
BFG ES-800
Windows 7 x64

Have you tried using the optical out on your motherboard?

Does music work if you set the program to use the Xonar? Can you set it to use SPDIF?

I have, and optical out on my board works fine.

Nope, I'm using Foobar2000 and I set it to output through the xonar, while primary sound device was xonar, nothing. If I set windows to default and foobar to default, then it works just fine.

Edit: nvm, mic is working now. However, how can I increase the boost on it ? there's no boost option in the windows sound thinger, and in the asus xonar audio center, mic is at max and boost is enabled.

I'd also like to add that it seems like the microphone isn't working either. I have it plugged into the pink port (next to the regular audio) and I have the microphone set to default, it doesn't pick up anything.

:(
