So I'm a new owner and was just wondering if the headphone amp works if I use the front panel connector.

I never even used to bother routing yet another cable through my computer, opting to just plug into the control module of my speakers. I ended up getting a pair of HARX 700's on forum recommendation, and am trying to get the most out of it.

Anything else a newbie should know, shout!

Hmm, maybe I'm dumb but what I'm wondering is if the built in headphone amp will work over the front panel connector. I guess it isn't outright labelled headphone like the other, but I'm hopeful. I think most people who buy this are using headphones.

edit:Yeah didn't find it on [H] but on google, it's supposed to be working. I'd still take any tips. :) I know a headphone amp is not about being loud, but I have them hooked up to my front panel, windows and wmp on full blast and it's at least tolerable. I'll have to try the back to see if it will blow your ear drums out like my old PCI X-fi connected to the back.

edit2 : Well I guess I can cheat and say exciter mode for headphones with > 64 ohm impedance. Which mine are not, but it does get louder.

The built in headphone amp works on both the rear output and the front panel headphone connection. The front and rear jacks should be at about the same volume, and you adjust the amp with the little tomahawk looking icon under "Analog Out". What is your source content?

Also turn off SVN and GX if you have those enabled...
