XM Outages Continue For Second Day

XM Satellite Radio is now on day two of outages after software problems took out one the network's four satellites.

"We quickly identified the problem and are working hard to return to our normal levels of service," the company said on its Web site Tuesday. "The problem occurred during the loading of software to a critical component of our satellite broadcast system, which resulted in a loss of one of our satellites."

Haha, damn I'm good. Just this morning on my drive to work my radio has been acting like crap... so I mumbled to myself... "either Rock fell out of the sky or Roll rolled off somewhere"

So I wasn't too far off!
 
I was having serious (no pun intended) signal trouble last night, and I figured something like this happened. Good to know.
 
I think this is Karma because of Opie and Anthony's "suspension". If XM advertises no holds barred limitless free speech and Suspends O&A, meanwhile letting other stations say unlimited racial slurs against whites, then they are outright liars and deserve to lose even more subscriptions.

Wait, not to go OT, but they suspended O&A?
 
I can't imagine what dumb scheme they did seeing as XM isn't regulated by the FCC and all.
 
Thank goodness and explanation! I was thinking my antenna was going out. Seems in my area, Olympia, WA. the land based repeaters are also on the fritz as well.
 
I knew something was up this morning. I was listening to national news on the way to work, and it would cut out at the most random times. I thought the sun had a solar event with a huge amount of EMI that reached earth and fsked up one of their satellites. :p
 
Whew, I was getting nervous too, I thought my system was going. I would lose the signal very easily.

Figured maybe a bird flew between my car and the satellite. :D
 
For those not in the know, O&A invited a bum up into the studio (they do this fairly frequently) and the bum decided to say that he would forcefully engage intercourse with Condi Rice, Laura Bush and Queen Elizabeth. Anthony then did impesinations of a woman being violated. They apologized for it 3 days later. Then XM decided to suspend them despite the fact that they said much worse things in past XM shows. The ironic part is the uncensored XM show is suspended, but the FM half was fine with the comments and kept them on for 6-9am. Normally O&A are on 6am-11am, 6-9am XM/FM simulcast and then 9am-11am XM only.
 
Wow, I'll bet those programmers are burning the late night oil!

In the past, I have released an application which hosed 50% of a major airline's printing for about 4 hours! I was literally sick, because I know how people feel when traveling if anything bad happens.

Sigh... Never can have enough testing!
