Can he avoid being run over in 2009?

I think I will have to come up with a new term for your setups.

"Boxen" means computer(s) (1-3 Computers or speaking about one specific Computer)
"Garden" is when you have more than a few boxen. (4-6 Computers or Subset of Computer)
"Farm" is when you have a lot of boxen. (6-10 Computer or Subet of Types of Computers)

New Term
"Green House" - When you have multiple "Gardens or Farms" such as Tiger & Sunin Do ...
Also because they piss off all the "Green" people with their huge power usage .....

some reserve (2 more GPU coming online by next week) for sure to push a few days later for sure but I cannot avoid the inevitable :(

Maybe Xilikon still has a bit left in reserve?:D
Seems like he was pushing a higher ppd late summer...
I think that was work boxen that were pulled off the project but I'll let him confirm that..

Yeah, almost all work boxens pulled and I sold some boxens in october to pay bills. I now rebuild the farm a bit with very very cheap parts like the 30$ E6400, 50-60$ 8800GS and 40-50$ motherboards.

Hey brother EA, I agree with you wholeheartedly. I like those definitions :D

After reading brother noma8u's post about the great [H]orde bein' short like a million and a half pernts in this contest thing I hada' scrounge enough "emergency parts" to build another boxen. I went from "Boxen" to "Garden" by building a boxen with a E6420 and 512 PC6400. I put WCG on it for another 24/7 cruncher. I could only find one stick of PC6400 and it's only 512 MB's I just pushed the button for another 2 Gigs from the egg, but I'll use the 512 MB until it gets here) :(

Now I have 2x Q6600's, 1x E6600 and 1x E6420 doing the WCG program for the contest deal. After the contest I'll put my 2x 8800's (1x GT, 1x GS) back to core three on the quads. I like the F@H GPU2 client. :p

Are we counting computers, or clients?

If it computers Tiger still has a farm. He only has 5 computers...... with a bunch of GPUs crammed into each one.

Are we counting computers, or clients?

That is a good question .....

Here is what we must answer:

The Computer is a boxen. Is 4 Gpus in onc system called a GPU "Farm" // "Garden" ???

In any case , both Sunin and Tigerbiten have a "Greeen House"

I still think multi-GPU boxen should be referred to in terms of engine configurations. ie origami master with its 3x GX2s would be a V6. A 4x single-GPU card boxen should be a 4 cylinder, which doesn't sound that great unless you think in terms of motorcycle 4 bangers.

"Ya I got a V6 GoldWing and a couple 4-bangers and 3 thumpers" (Thumper is a 600cc single cylinder trail bike)

Good luck, Silly Con. Keeping Sunin at bay will be difficult.

Happy New Years! :p

Well then I suppose I have a greenhouse as well (just not as large), 13 clients should put me there.

Heck there are quite a few of us with boxen that are farms themselves.

That's very interesting brother flogge. So with your method of counting how do you count 2x Q6600's running WCG on cores #0, #1, #2 and GPU2 on core #3 with a 8800GT on one and 8800GS on the other. A E6600 with a 9600GSO running WCG on core #0 with GPU2 on core #1 and a little E6420 just running WCG on cores #0 and #1 or do you just count multi GPU cards

I liked brother EA's method because it was just simpler to use. I think it becomes too complicated counting the CPU cores, the GPU cores,. IMHO for us "small time" crunchers (say 3 boxen or less) simpler is better. Now if I had a "zillion" dollars invested in my equipment, a bunch of individual computers, multi socket mobos, more than one VGA card with multi GPUs and I really gave a shite about publicizing my gear, which I don't. If it's the "epeen" thing it kinda' leaves our female folders hangin' in the wind, unless there's a "boob size" rating ) I guess if any of the above is true and there's a "boob size" thing then counting of all components might be necessary. (CPU cores, GPU cores, etc) :p

This is only my opinion and like the old expession says "to each his/her own (or something like that) I'm gonna' use brother EA's counting method from here on out.
