XFX HD-585X-ZAFC boot problem.

Hey guys...

Just got my SB build going and was playing BFBC2 for about an hour when my computer locked up. I powered it down and back on but the video never came back and the system does not sound like it is loading windows. The ASUS P8P67 Pro that I am using has a red VGA led next to the card that lights up with the XFX plugged in. I am using my old 8600 GTS and it is working fine. Anyone have any ideas what the problem could be?

It could be the PSU, but I think you may just have a bad card. Perhaps you could exchange it with Newegg.

Would a too weak power supply allow the card to run for a while and then cause the non-boot? The PSU has two 6 pin connectors. Just wonderin' if I just need to get a new PSU. Have already got the RMA # for the card.

I'm not really sure how an inadequate PSU would affect your computer.

I think you should try booting again with the 5850 and perhaps running Furmak. If that fails, then you know the card may be faulty.
