XFX 7970 DD BE noise levels

I'm curious to know what users think of the noise levels provided by the custom cooler on the xfx 7970 DD BE. How is it compared to your previous card at idle/load? Reviews seem to be all over the place, from much quieter to louder than stock cooling.

I get mine tomorrow and I will definitely post on this, as I'm currently running a GTX 470 (EVGA, first batch) and it runs hot despite the fans blazing.

it seems to be comparable to my old MSI Hawk 460's, noise-wise. with the stock fan profile it's indecipherable over my case fans. i played around with manual settings last night and found locking it at 50% is perfectly fine, 55% is noticeable, and 60% is probably the absolute most i would set it at. keep in mind that i have a noisy case (CM Storm Black with fans set at 75%), and i game with closed circumaural headphones so i can't hear shit while i'm gaming.
