I've been putting together a list of components to upgrade my socket 939 system. I really like the XFX 790i Ultra but I have one concern about it. Some of the reviews I've read on it mention potential difficulties with mounting an after market CPU cooler due to limityed space around the CPU socket.

I was planning on using a Zalman CNPS 8700NT (inexpensive, good specs, light weight, and looks good with the color of the XFX board) but now I'm not sure if it'll fit. I have also considered the Noctua C12P but have similar concerns about being able to get it mounted.

I'm planning on doing the initial build with an E8400 but want something with the aditional cooling capacity to handle a Core 2 Quad at some point in the future.

Any ideas?

I bought a eVGA 790i Ultra board, some Patriot Viper DDR3 ram (4gb) and a Zalman 9700 CPU cooler 2 days ago, it will be here tomorrow. I will let you know how it goes
