XFX 6600GT Question

So I just moved from a 9700PRO to a XFX 6600GT. Everything seems to be smooth, except in firefights in CS-Source, I am still getting FPS drops below 50. Which seems puzzling to me, because I am running at 1024/768 with medium settings, no bump mapping, and alot of the extra eye candy turned off via the config commands. It almost resembles the 9700PRO performance, which it shouldn't.....

I've got the card over clocked to 545/1125.

Just wondering what kind of FPS to expect? I mean, I am thinking it may be a bottleneck of the CPU, because I can pump up the details and eye candy and still get pretty much the same FPS.

I have the Athlon XP Barton 2500+ running at stock speed, with 1.5 GB ram running at 333MHZ....

Any comments, personal experiences, or feedback would be appreciated....

I'm pretty sure that your processor is bottlenecking the performance of the game. You might want to consider getting a new mobo (s939 of course) and a new processor (perhaps the 3000+).

Oh, how I wish I could get myself into the niner-three-niner. =)
I definitely agree with you there, and thanks for the response!

on a side note:
I am thinking I may do some overclocking.....perhaps I can boost the FSB up to 200MHZ with a quick voltage manipulation.

The RAM is 400MHZ, so both it and the board should be happy.....
