XFX 5970 BE low fps..

Stock speeds with MSI afterburner cvolt = 1049, cclock = 725, mem clock = 1000

Cat 11.9 with cap 2 profile

Cat AI disabled

Using Furmark with res set to 2560x1600 i cant get above 35fps, is this normal for these speeds and res? i thought i should be getting around 60 at least. I can get 52 roughly with a res set to 1920x1200.

If i go to

cvolt 1100
cclock 800
mem clock 1200

cant get above 38 fps..

What res is optimal for fps and game play with this card and games like rage, bf3 etc?

i7 920 oc to 4.2 with H100
corsair dominator gt 2000mhz at 6-6-6-18

Why are you benching in furmark? That's not what it's for. Go run at the very least 3dmark, if not some real games. My frame rate is in the toilet with furmark at 2560x1600 as well, it's part of the stress test. The only real reason to see the frame rate is to check it isn't bouncing up and down due to the card either throttling for heat/power reasons, or because it's unstable. If it stays at 35 (or 38 with your overclock) then it's fine.

This is the kind of stuff that makes me angry, People buying video cards to get Higher FPS in futuremark!!! Futue mark is designed to give you horrible FPS and it always will be. Thanks for playing the game go buy new GPU to get 15 FPS on the next version of futuemark that equates to no real world performance! ARGgggg stop worrying about benchmarks and go play some real games that will run perfectly fine and not convince you to spend more money on new GPU!

@OP: As mentioned, furmark is really just for stability testing. The FPS is there to let you see if something might be wrong (stuttering, frame drops, freezing, etc). There are a lot of other benchmarking tools out there. I suggest you look at the current version of 3dmark. You can even submit your score and check it against other people with similar systems.
