Thread title says it all.

Are there links for removing the shroud?

should just be a few screws on the back to remove the shroud. but odds are the fan's dying. downfall is that rma'ing it will suck since xfx will just send you back a refurbished non reference card which is far worse then the card you have. might be time to go to an aftermarket heatsink instead.
 
Chances of getting a non-reference card for a BE is slim. I don't think that XFX made non-reference Black Edition cards. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

To the OP you can do what sirmonkey suggested RMA or aftermarket cooling solution.
Option C: find a fan from another card that will fit, possibly 5770.

Edit: Try laying your PC on its' side see if noise goes away, if it does than there is no fixing the fan just replacing it.
