Xfire GPU utilization?

I'm running Furmark stability test and monitoring GPU usage with GPU-Z. First card shows 99% usage, second card fluctuates between 0% - 30%. Is that normal and why is that?

This whole Xfire setup has proven to be more trouble than it is worth IMO. Some games perform worse in Xfire mode than a single card, had to buy a new PSU because the Seasonic 850w was shit and caused me a hassle and time to trouble shoot. For not a lot more than what it cost me for a second 5870 and a new PSU I could have bought a Nvidia 580 card with 1.5GB of Vram. Never again.
 
Funny my setup is running perfectly. What cards are you using. What OS are you using. What Drivers are you using. What games are you experiencing slowdowns or Single GPU performance. Without any of this info its much harder to help you out. Although the tone of your post implies heavily that you dont really want help and you just want Nvidia. What Rig do you have (GPU CPU RAM MOBO etc) cause 850w should be enough for most 2xGPU setups from AMD.
 
Crossfire doesn't work with Furmark unless you start renaming EXE files and messing with it.
 
for furmark to be used with crossfire, it has to be full screen. I think that the 99% utilization issue is a known driver problem if I remember correctly. Which driver's are you using?
 
11.4 drivers and full screen makes no difference, that is something I tested earlier. My scores are higher with 2 cards over just one but obviously not to its fullest potential. Makes one wonder how many games have that issue too.
 
I haven't had a whole lot of issues with my setup in actual games, I had some problems with BC2 but that was me straight copying and pasting it onto my new rig instead of redownloading it from Steam.

I own 4 ATI cards and 2 Nvidia cards, this has absolutely nothing to do wit ATI vs Nvidia. The issue with some games running slower with Xfire enabled compared to disabled is a well known issue. I suggest you go do some research if you don't believe me.

The GTX580 comment was just to illustrate what I should have done instead of wasting my time and money on Xfire thinking it was going to save me money. How would you feel if after buying a second video card for Xfire you had to buy a new 1000W PSU because the 850W Seasonic that is claimed to be powerful enough isn't? Seriously, Xfire and SLI is just 2xpower usage, 2xheat, 2xnoise, and 2xhassle for little gain. It sucks is my opinion.

But did you compare benchmarks in every game? I tested a few that had built in benchmark demo modes and saw good to moderate improvements in a couple but I remember one was very little improvement at all and I expect there are lots of games with that issue.

AMD drivers have most of their issues with benchmarks/demo's for games since AMD doesn't bother to implement everything for the demo's or the developers left options out of the demo. where as nvidia has the man power to waste a couple hundred hours making sure they can get every extra FPS out of a benchmark/demo and then not even show that same performance in the actual game.
