Xeons bottleneck for X1950 Pro?

I am kinda torn as to how to go about my next upgrade. I was originally planning on building a complete new Kentsfield / GF8800 rig this fall, but now several companies have announced AGP versions of the X1950 Pro. I am just wondering how badly bottlenecked would an X1950Pro be by dual 3.4 Prestonia Xeon's? I did some searching and i can't find any benchmarks for any of ATI's X1900 cards when paired with one of Intels older northwood P4's, let alone a dually system. I am foolish to be even considering throwing more money into my aging system?

TIA for any advice.
 
Dual 3.4ghz Xeons wouldn't be that weak - you'd be in the ballpark of a Pentium D 840 in performance, anyway. (Around there, anyway - less cache, but faster)

Not GREAT, by any stretch of the imagination, but not that bad, either.
 
There are certainly faster CPU's out, but as far as gaming performance goes, there will be zero bottlenecking.

I'm running 3Ghz Xeons myself and everything runs great with my X800XTPE.

It seems like anything that is multi threaded runs great but the weak spot is single-threaded gaming performance. Having 4 virtual processors is pretty nifty.

As long as the next gen games really are multithreaded I plan to keep my rig for at least one more year. If I could throw an x1950 AGP in there that would just be icing on the cake.
