Are all Xeon MP processors 64bit? The reason that I ask is that a just bought a system that should have MP processors installed. In the BIOS they show up as 1.6ghz MP processors with 256KB L2 cache and 1MB L3 cache. When I boot the system with a 64bit version of FC6, it says something to the affect that the CPU does not support 64bit code and to use a 32bit version. When I boot the system with the 32bit version of FC6 and cat out the /proc/cpuinfo file, the processors report as standard Xeon processors with 1MB cache. Is linux not seeing the CPUs correctly or is the BIOS not telling the truth?
