Hi,
I'm wondering if somebody here can answer a question that hopefully isn't too newbish! :)

I'm looking to buy a couple of Xeon E5435 CPUs for my Dell PowerEdge 1950.
Dabs is selling them here:
http://www.dabs.com/products/intel-xeon-e5345-active-4QPJ.html

It's the active cooling version. However, I need the passive cooling version which is (permanently) out of stock on Dabs.

In the spec on Dabs it says:
Included Processor Accessories: 1U passive / 2U+ active combo

Does this mean that it comes with a separate 1U passive cooling solution which will fit in a PowerEdge 1950?

Thanks in advance for any and all assistance...

I've looked around further on this and think I've found an answer to my own question :)

Reading the E5435 datasheet from Intel's website (http://www.intel.com/design/xeon/datashts/315569.htm), I found the following:

The 1U passive/3U+ active combination solution is based on a 1U passive heat sink with a removable fan that will be pre-attached at shipping. This heat sink solution is intended to be used as either a 1U passive heat sink, or a 3U+ active heat sink.
