Background:
I am moving my Lab from Hyper-v environment to XS6 because I am bored and wanted to explore Xenserver
I have my three Compute nodes installed using XS6 and have migrated all of my VMs (about 10) to them and have them temporarily stored on local storage SRs on the individual nodes for the time being.
My main compute node/storage node was a 2008R2, acting as the main shared SR as well as my most powerful compute node.
I have an Areca RAID card w/ 4x 15k 600gb SAS Raid10 volume that contained the Host OS image as well as all of the VHD images...i have since migrated the VMs so i can format this.
I also have a 16TB Raid6 Volume (NTFS) that has all of my backups and shared data....I absolutely cannot lose this volume and I dont have a way to back it up or migrate it.
I can offline the Raid6 volume, install XS6 on a SSD i have laying around.
My question is then how do i use my RAID10 volume as a XS SR, and how can i "pass" my Raid6 volume to a VM?
What are my options? What would you do?
