Xbox360 vs PS3

I feel the best exclusive titles PS3 has to offer are nothing more than sequels to previous successful games. As exciting as sequels are always are, the gameplay still feels the same. I would prefer if they took chances and bring us something unique and different.

I'd like to chime in against buying the HD DVD add on for the 360. You are much better served in both playback quality and audio options with a stand alone unit. Maybe when they drop it to $99 one of these days.

I have both systems. I'll give you my honest opinion. Quick and to the point.

Right now? The Xbox 360 seems to be the superior choice right now, simply because of the library and ease of Xbox Live. The 360 is much more simple, has a very easy and convenient interface...

Xbox perks
- Better games right now.

- Better controller. I still like the PS3 controller, at first I thought the Sixaxis was a little lame, but after using it in Heavenly Sword and a couple other games it's not very bad. But I still like the 360 controller better.

- Better online management and flow.

- Better price.

Xbox dislikes
- Unreliable systems they can "brick" easily. Lots of people have been lucky, but lots of people are on their 2nd and 3rd 360's in less then a year.

- Which may sound silly, Xbox Live seems to attract more morons online, discouraging a pleasant gaming experience sometimes.. more to known as "halo kiddies"

- Lots of games online boast an unfair advantage that is called "the host advantage" . I have not played many PS3 games online, but I have heard it is not as much as a problem on that side.

- The system can get very hot and loud sometimes.. which can be annoying.

Playstation 3 perks
- Bluray

- Sixaxis controller seems fun and cool.

- Little more multimedia features and networking ability.

- Wi-Fi

- Free online play, overall more polished appeal then the 360.

PS3 Dislikes
- Clunky interface system can sometimes get confusing or excessive.

- Lack of exclusives and good library right now. Although lets not forget folks, the 360 has a whole year on the PS3 right now, lets not count it out that it will release some good titles.

- Initial launch left a lot of people with a bad taste in their mouth for Sony.

- The controller seems a little too light and cheap, disregarding the motion sensing feature.

The graphics are about the same, in some cases the 360 are reporting slightly better lighting and framerates on some similar titles right now, Rainbow Six Vegas, Assassins Creed. Lets not forget they have been out a year. Games that first game out at launch do not look NEAR as good as games right now.. Remember Perfect Dark Zero? It looks like utter trash compared to games like Gears of War or GRAW 2. At least PS3 at launch seems to have very comparable graphics to current Xbox titles.. do you think it will improve over time?

do you think it will improve over time?

Rhetorically ? Of course.

Look at PS2 launch games compared to God of War 1 and 2.

I agree PS3 games have made amazing strides in only a year. IMO Resistance looked about as good as HL2, a 2 year old PC game. A year later, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is one of the best looking videogames I've seen on any system including PC. MGS4 and GT5 look absolutely fantastic too.

Pretty much my exact feeling. Very good unbiased post. 360 for games and online now, PS3 starting to hits its stride with games and great for media functions. Really can't go wrong with either.
