Anyone else pair up an xbox with the 260?

I just purchased a new slim, I'm using HDMI and well...

The xbox image looks like complete ass @ 1080p.

Even when I size it down to have bars on top and bottom the image looks terrible!

I used the T240HD with my xbox some time back and I had no issues. You sure you are setting it to native as opposed to stretch?

Check your xbox360 settings to be sure your on 1080p resolution and not the standard 480i.

Used a 360 on my T240HD for a long time and never had any issues. Not exactly sure what you are describing.

I tried the xbox 360 vga cable, and it looks slightly better, still really shitty though.

The monitor looks amazing when in it's native resolution, but complete ass even with bars.

What you describe seems like having sharpness set way too high. With DVI/HDMI sources, you essentially need neutral sharpening. On some panels, this means 0 (zero), on others, it's around 50-60. Most Samsung panels tend to be around 60; but for HDMI sources like a 360, this can look harsh. Reduce as required.

Also, try visually calibrating your panel. Excessive contrast and brightness can wash our colors and destroy detail. A good place to start is by turning the brightness way down; then continue here:

When I was doing research on buying this monitor I read about this problem everywhere I went but since I don't own a 360 or PS3 it didn't bother me. I did find this not sure if it will help or not but worth a shot...

I recently bought a Samsung 260HD and it has been great for watching tv and for computer usage (gaming and regular usage), but when ever I play my ps3 everything looks so bad, like it's 480p.The ps3 looked alot better on my Acer H233 Hbmid 23 in.Yes I made sure that 480/720/1080i/1080p were all checked on my ps3. I also used different HDMI cables (which shouldn't be the issue anyway)I was wondering if any one had any suggestions?

If i remember correctly, you need to uncheck NTSC and 480p or the 260 will ( for whatever reason ) only ask for a 480 signal.Problems with Samsung 260Hd and PS3
Typing in black makes it impossible to read.

Hmm, have an original reference for that information?

I'm not sure where to uncheck that option.
