I was wondering if anyone knows what OS the Xbox is running? I figured it would be WinXP Embedded, but I don't know for sure. Also, does anyone know where I can find any information about the next version of Xbox?
 
The X-Box runs a heavily modified WinNT kernel, somewhat of a cross between WinCE and WinNT. You can also hack it to run Linux and MacOSX

Microsoft Dashboard... isn't a Windows variant.
 
get a modchip, 120gig hd, and flash the firmware and unleash the best console. no disc swapping and no dvd remote required.
 
The important questions:

How much is the chip/hard drive?
How hard is the install/flash process?
Is 120 the largest drive you can use?
Where can this info be found on the web?
 
xbox-scene.com All the info you need, if you can read that is. Alot of people complain that they can't understand anything there, but I found all the info to be pretty straight forward.
