Xbox One X $50 or $100 off or both?

There is a $50 off sale currently and talk all over a Google search (various gaming news outlets), about a $100 permanent price drop. Any idea if this is real or not? I have a feeling if it is, it will happen after the $50 off sale ends. That's usually how retail sales goes right?

All I am finding is speculation due to an error on Gamestop's and Fry's part. It may be because someone got confused as the PS4 is also on sale with a $50 discount for $349.

Microsoft typically makes a big deal of price drops. It would also make no sense that the One S would stay at $299 if the One X dropped to $399.
