It also states both systems are in short supply and there will be very limited quantities if there are extra's. NONE of those links state ANYTHING about any numbers what so ever. Meaning there could be one extra per store if that. What each article does echo is that both systems are in extremely short supply.

Individual retailers are more forthcoming with GameStop, Target, Walmart and Best Buy claiming that some stores will have more consoles than pre-orders allowing for walk-in purchases on release day.

GameStop and Best Buy will hold midnight launch events for the PS4 which is the best chance for users to find a PS4 on release day without a pre-order. Target and Walmart tell NBC News they will have extra units and with many locations open 24 hours, it’s another place to try late at night. Savvy shoppers will look for the overlooked place that other gamers might overlook, like the one on the edge of town.

All this is, is useless driblle to try and drum up interest for people to come out to the stores on launch and for them to try to sell any that are not picked up and what little "extra" stock they have. There is no "overflow" stock of consoles and no where in any of those articles does it say so.

Earlier you said the consoles are sold out, which they are not. Even if they have just 1 or 2 consoles that alone voids your "sold out" statement.

Now you say that my intention for coming into this thread was to "shit" on him...

BestBuy, GameStop, Target & Wal-Mart (These 4 stores are confirmed to carry an "overflow" stock) will be carrying more stock than just the pre-orders for those who did not pre-order. The amount is unknown and I really don't care :rolleyes: The next stock is supposed to be in January, but knowing how crap like this always gets delayed and never go as planned I am pretty sure you will see new stock by the end of December.

While I understand that pre-ordering and getting launch day versions does appeal to the more 'extreme' tech fans, it still gets me down at just how impatient and desperate some people can be. Especially the ones who are willing to dump paycheck(s) on one from eBay.

I will wait until the PS4 hits the $299 mark, and then just buy one from Craigslist lol. Until then all of the new releases will be played on my computer, where all games should be played.

Yes. all pre orders at this time are currently sold out. One of your links even says that.

Why in the world do you think Im grumpy? Because im proving your statements wrong? You said GS, BB, Target, Walmart would have confirmed "overflow. Before that statement I said, all systems are currently sold out, which they are, if they are not please show me somewhere you can purchase a pre order. I also said as of now there would be no stock until next year at the earliest which is also in one of the links you posted.

You came into a guys thread and tried to jump on the "we hate people selling release systems for a markup" bandwagon and tried to spew lies.

Are you trying to defuse how wrong you are by attacking me and calling me grumpy? In fact you're the only one in here personally attacking anyone, most likely because your story has been picked apart now.

I've posted multiple quotes from every article you've linked that echo all that Ive stated in this thread. I dont see ONE article that echo's this overflow of consoles that will be readily available..

GLWS, I'd hold on to it until the week of Christmas. Then I'm sure there will be some last minute shoppers who promised their kids Xbone's and PS4's, and they'll pay a premium to keep the brats happy.

I know a woman who paid $1200 for a PS2 for kid for Christmas when they came out because they were sold out everywhere.

People be crazy. But I understand making a buck. If they are willing to pay stupid prices, let the money flow.

I'm thinking about raising the price at this point.. I may actually keep it and relist near christmas for massive price... consolation prize is an xbox one for christmas. oh darn

I had the same question as far as when to sell. I figured a sure profit now was better than a possibly larger profit come Christmas where i might strike out. Had there been any launch games Id had done it because if I got stuck with it, Id just play it.

I wouldn't pay 4 to have somebody wait in line and deal with the crap... but i think 2 is fair, and wouldn't hesitate paying that if i didn't have a preorder.

It probably isn't smart to assume that someone in today's economy is going to drop $1200 on a console just because idiots did back in 2005/2006. The economy is a tad bit different now than it was then.

A car may have only cost $500.00 back then, but just slap a freaking weed wacker motor on a laid over barrel with wheels and you get ur $500.00 car today. Now try building something as amazing as a low end $15k civic back then and it would cost you $200-300k or more.

Try building an xbox back when NES came out and it would cost the consumer the equivilant of going to Mars.. so we are actually deflated right now.

isn't that called supply and demand? if something is in short supply the demand goes up. thus, the price goes up.
 
One of my local Bestbuys has confirmed they will have extras in stock. This isn't the PS3 release where there will be an artificial shortage.

I'm not going to hate on people selling units overprices though. I got $2000 for a 60gb PS3, and all I had to do was wait for Gamestop to open 3 hours early for a preorder. Good luck to you guys selling, and I hope you all have plenty of dumb fucks willing to overpay.
 
I decided to cancel the auction early and keep the xbox one. I was amazed at the commercial during the SNF game. I just want to see how unlike the commercial the real world experience is going to be and create a future thread bashing my decision to keep it. stay tuned :)
 
Apparently it is considered a "service" to sell a pre-ordered item, so mine are not going to be listed on the FS forum until they arrive. . Feel free to message for any interested, as I'll be giving [H] first dibs; it has been a long time since I've sold tech on Ebay and I'm guessing the fees still skyrocket, so I'll be giving craigslist and elsewhere a go instead.

consoles should be regulated by the government to ensure ample supply at income based pricing.

Well, just sold the PS4 I was going to keep on CL for a profit of $200 without ebay fee's. Really wish I had kept the other one as well..
