This is basically a reminder for everybody with an Xbox 360, who is hooked up with Live, to get go and download the Live Arcade game "Carcassonne," which is free for today. However, there's a couple videos, and more freebies on Xbox Live, to celebrate the 5 year annivesary of Live:

Those who have been members since 2001 are suppose to get 500 free MS points, and other exclusive content.

I clicked on Carcassonne and it asked me to deposit more money into my account if I wanted to purchase the game for 800 ms points. Are you sure that everyone is allowed to download this for free? Maybe there's something I'm not doing?
 
Did you try to download load it via the Live Arcade? I ask, because that's now how I did it... I went to the Marketplace Blade and the top right button is a "Xbox Live Is 5" button and when you click on that you get the full list of goodies. The button/link at the very bottom says "Free Arcade Offer," which brings up a choice to download Carcassonne for free.
 
I checked this last night, so this was possibly not one of the blades. I went through every single one. The history lesson of Live was quite interesting.
 
well it started 12:01 am pst Nov 15th till 12:01 am pst Nov 16. Maybe you tried to early. I got the game this morning before work. I check the themes when i get home.

So the banner I saw at about 9pm was false advertising!

I'll try again tonight. Read the good reviews on the game, but the premise of it didn't really appeal to me. Now I get the full version for free. :) They should refund points to people that paid for it.

You should sue them and make them give you the game for free.
 
I got an e-mail earlier, for the 500 free MS points. You have to fill out a form and it looks like you don't get them for a few weeks. The e-mail said I had to register by Nov. 29th.
 
Carcassonne is addicting. I ended up staying up very late last night playing it. MUST GET ACHIEVEMENT!
 
Ha, I pushed up my timeframe of getting a 360 to today just so I can grab this when I get home ;)

Luckily it's 12:00am PST that it ends, and I'm on EST, so plenty of time!
 
I thought it was today not yesterday....

Lol oh well...I was actually going to turn my 360 on (it hasn't been on for a month) haha.

Microsoft is celebrating the fifth anniversary of Xbox Live and as a gesture of thanks to the gaming community, all eight million Xbox Live members will have the opportunity to download Carcassonne for free between 12:01 a.m. PST on Nov. 15 and 11:59 p.m. PST on Nov. 16.

I don't think there are 8 million Gold Members, so I'm sure everybody can download it.
 
Well slap me sideways and call me Susan, that is pretty cool. I thought it was for Gold members only.
