Hey guys im new to this site, but i was wondering if anyof you would know a motherboard that would fit into a xbox case. I gutted out an xbox because it fried and i want to make it a little media pc that i could mess around with. If you guys have some ideas of how i could do it or if someone has done it before and has any pics or tips then please reply. Also where could i get a dremel drill bit. Home Depot? I am very new to the mod scene but i find it very interesting.
 
Console swaps/mods have been done many times over but if you insist... A mini-itx motherboard or possibly (I don't have an xbox for size comparisons) a micro-atx. Microatx mobo's are 10.5x10.5" ...The mini-itx's are usually around 7 or 8" square.

I'd go with the smallest you can get but at that rate, your media pc would only be capable of simple graphics tasks as they suck for gaming.
 
Yes, Home Depot does sell those drill bits. I am not all sure they are made for metal though. Be prepared to buy a few of them, and they are a bit expensive as well ($5 a piece I think). I have use router bits before (with my air dye grinder (takes the same sizes as Dremel)), but they are made for wood, and do not last that long.
 
Ok cool thanks guys, Do you know of any sites that would show pics of the new mobos in the xbox or something like that. Also i would not be playing new games. The only thing that would be running would be emulators and videos and stuff like that.
 
I've put my XBOX in a mATX case. It's the correct size but a unique form factor. If you want to fit a psu in there as well you'll probably be stuck using an itx board. Also, what you're talking about doing has been done before so doing a Google search should turn up some useful results.
