hey so heres my problem i really need some advice. so right now i have a xbox 360 and a wii. i have the Sennheiser RS 130 headset which i use for latenight gaming, movie watching, tv etc. i am planning on buying a ps3 soon. the thing that sucks is that i have to put my 360 mic around my neck to use it for live. so heres what i want to do. i either want to purchase a headset that is compatible with the 360 and the ps3, or somehow be able to hook up my pc headset so that i can use it for xbox and ps3 while still being able to use the mic. i dont want to buy two more headsets since i for the xbox and ps3. thanks

At this moment, I'm unsure if there is any headset that will allow for voice chat that is compatible with both systems. However, if you do have a bluetooth headset laying around or using it with your phone, you can sync it with the PS3 and it will serve the purpose of a headset without purchasing another one.

The majority of bluetooth and PC USB headsets work with the PS3. As for the 360..... not so much. It's a simple open platform vs closed platform I'm afraid.

Um, no. This guy is talking about stereo headphones with a mic. Those don't work on the PS3 using Bluetooth - regular mono headsets will, but not stereo. That's not even addressing the mixing situation (in-game audio and voice come in on two different channels).

The only thing I know of that would resolve the situation would be the Astro Gaming A40:

It costs a pretty penny, but it's the most comprehensive headphones solution imaginable. Use a cheap USB to 2.5mm cable to utilize the mic port on the mixer for the PS3, and you're set. Of course, you then need to switch the audio depending on whether you're using the PS3 or 360, but that shouldn't be overly taxing.

Ah ok, I misunderstood and thought he just meant an ordinary mono headset. My bad.
