Xbox 360 VGA Cable question...

The 360 wont use that specific resolution, but it will still work fine with your monitor.

Computer monitors are 16:10 instead of 16:9 like for televisions, so there will be a slight stretching of the picture but it isn't really noticeable and would still look wonderful.

I would run the xbox at a Wide screen resolution that the monitor supports if you are going to use the VGA cable. I'm not sure what it would look like at a 4:3 resolution. I'm guessing that the image would either be stretched, or you would loose a lot of real-estate. Just my 2 cents.

Anyone know how the 360 would look on a 19" non-WS LCD? Would it be terrible? (specfically a Hyundai L90D+ 19" 8ms). I wanna get a 360, but I don't have a decent TV.

i have my 360 hooked up to a 19inch lcd (non name brand). have it set to 1280x1024 in the xbox dashboard. the dashboard is displayed at 1280x1024 but games but a black border on the top and bottom of the screen. works very well. btw there are a select few games that stretch the image to 1280x1024 (PGR3 demo does this).

The Xbox 360 can run in 1280 * 768 via VGA, which is a 16:10 ratio.

Uh... 1280*768 isn't a 16:10 ratio.

Maybe you're thinking of 1280*800?

There is a 16:10 res in that range though. Thats the one to use. Should be happy with that it's the best to expect. I mean surely you didn't expect it to have 1680*1050 through upconvert which is really a speecial PC res. Bottom line there is a 16:10 option and it's good. Fuck I could swear it has one. Dang, maybe I was using 1280*768 and I did my math wrong. Don't bother using 1280*1024 though your PC monitor is setup for wide rather have little bars than 5:4 when we know the 360 isn't really rendering that.
