Xbox 360 RPG's

I have already played and pretty much perfected fable 2. It was a grea game but not the kind dof rpg that I wanted. I want something that can draw me in like FFIII (our III with the opera scene) and FFVII did. I want something that will make want to forsake work. :) I have seen a trailer for SO4 and it looks like I might enjoy it. I will try some of the others also. thanks for all the help.

as an update I got Star Ocean today, haven't popped it in just yet, waiting for a goodtime to do that. I have some work to do first, then it's get lost in the game time.

I am going to buy it at lunch today. But I wont get to play it until I finish persona3.

<3 RPGsI have Infinite Undiscovery and Last Remnant and Blue Dragon still sitting in shrinkwrap cuz I'm not done with Lost Odyssey yet. Trying to get all the items on the 4th disc. XD

There were only a handful of difficult bosses in the beginning (like that damn Griffin), but things get much easier down the road. Also, the story is so-so, but it's the dreams that really give it the game its main appeal.

if the dream sequences were included voice acting with visuals it would have been awesome.
if i want to read a book ill pick up a book. they took the easy, lazy way out with this.

I have a lot of trouble classifying Fable 2... it's like an action adventure sandbox RPG. It makes it a phenomenal game, IMHO, but it's also not terribly like, say, Disgaea, Persona, or Final Fantasy. Heck, it's not even much like Legend of Zelda, which was very much a game it was modeled from.

I'm also looking forward to Dragon Age and The Witcher on the 360, even though I have a gaming PC that can handle both. More fun to play on the couch than the office chair, IMHO.

I was only able to get as far as just starting to explore the world on SO4. I wanted to get further, but two computers on the bench and a rush order on them slowed me down. So far the visuals are great and the voice acting seems to be pretty good. I hope after work tonight I can at least get 2 hours put into it. Damn priorities.

Is it just me, or is Fable II really short? I think I am just about to start the last mission, and I've barely even played the game, and I even did quite a few sidequests, jobs, and real estate purchasing. Plus, it runs like fat kid going uphill.

I've got Lost Odyssey, but the beginning is so insanely slow and boring. I might put a little more time into it to see if it picks up, but there is literally nothing going on.

If you're just blowing through the main quest, it's short (the same can be said of Oblivion or Fallout 3). If you're doing all the other stuff, it's pretty reasonably sized. Add in an evil play-through, and it's more than acceptable in length, IMHO.

It gets better around disc two or three.

I'm only about 2.5 to 3 hrs into SO4, but I have been enjoying it so far. Voice acting could be a little better, and the lip syncing to the english voices can be downright terrible at times (ie. you hear people talking but no lips actually move for several seconds). Those are fairly minor complaints though. The battle system and item creation are what make the game, and it does both of those well. The camera also took a bit of getting used to, but I've finally got it figured out. My only other complaint is that everything is ridiculously shiny! I swear I'm going to go blind from all the reflections in the game lol.

SO FAR:
for an 360 game as a whole- 8/10
for a JRPG on the 360 - 9/10

The memories were incredibly well written, best text in an rpg...ever? I was blown away and I am an avid reader/rpg'er, it was often novel quality imo.

only put 4 hours into the game before I quit playing but it was my favorite part of the game.

The game was...mediocre. The characters were poorly drawn and created. The twin kids were annoying, the women were forgetable and the character outfits were much worse than the worst final fantasy game. The battles were pretty good, I did hope the bosses were continually as tough as they were early on.

The game gave back some good sidequests near the end and there were a lot of memories to unlock that really opened up the main characters story. Too bad he looked like somewhat of an moron but it was worth playing none the less.

I just bought star ocean 4 today and look forward to it.

Also, mass effect is 20 dollars brand new now, you cant beat that.
