Xbox 360 HD-Drive

So I was thinking about picking up an HD DVD player for my xbox360, what I was wondering if I were to put in a non-HD DVD will it look the same as a regular dvd player, or will it upconvert it to a better quality? (not HD quality, but better then SD quality?) Thanks

If your Xbox is hooked up to your TV with a VGA cable i believe it will upconvert it.

As far as I know, the 360 will upconvert to whatever your TV has as a preset (mine is 1080i).

I might be wrong though.

It will be upconverted if you use the vga cable. Using component cables will just play the dvd in 480 i/p.

It's just like the built-in drive. Upconvert if you've got it hooked up with a VGA cable, regular otherwise.
