Connected the 360 to my Auzen Prelude soundcard through the SPDIF in with toslink, and I can only hear the Digital Stereo option in the 360 sound options. Tried putting it in the line in, I can hear all the options, digital stereo, 5.1, wma, but only my front two speakers work.

*Sigh*
I don't know what else to do
Even connected my Z-5500s through analog and digital, doesn't make a difference, only getting stereo.

What can I do

Those optical inputs on just about every pc sound card are only for stereo optical input.

For real? I find that hard to believe... I have my 360 plugged into my sound card via the flexijack and i get surround... I don't see why that would make a difference. I hope this isn't true, I was planning on getting a TOSlink cable so I could use the flexi on my card for my mic.

Even the line in is only stereo?

I can get 5.1 if I directly connect from the 360 optical to the Z-5500s optical but it just sounds like crap... Rather have it pass through the sound card which makes it sounds ton better even if it is only stereo.

In order to get surround sound from the 360 via the Prelude, you would need some sort of S/PDIF bypass that would route the sound from the input to the output without touching it inbetween. There may be an option for that in the control panel somewhere, but of course by doing so, you'll lose whatever processing is making the audio sound better to your ears. That rather defeats the point of routing it through the sound card.
