X9SCM-F Problems with Bios

Hello,
ive bought a used Supermicro X9SCM-F and need to update the bios to use an Ivy-Bridge CPU.
I got an older Sandy-Bridge Celeron to do the actual bios update, but i have problems to get to do that.

The Bios is secured by a password.
No matter what i did, i can't reset the bios to default values (without password?).
Everything i tried, was with the system off and disconnected from AC:
I tried to short the cmos jumper.
I tried to leave the bios battery out for 10 minutes.
I tried to short the battery + and - for 30 sec.

Is there some sort of master password or am i on the wrong path here?

I created a bootable usb flash drive with rufus and put the bios update binaries on it, but the current setting won't boot from bios.

Because of not beeing able to access the bios, i can't change the boot order, which i need to have on usb flash.
Is there another key to change boot order, without having access to the bios?



Searching for this issue did only give me information about how to do the actual update.

If there is an administrator password in place preventing you from accessing the BIOS, then the CMOS definitely hasn't been cleared. You need to short the CMOS clear jumper pad or leave the battery out for 20-30 minutes.
 
Ok, if this is the case, i will try to short it again (or leave the battery out for a much longer time). Thanks in advance.
 
Hello, i tried this morning after leaving the bios battery out while no cable of the PSU was connected for a whole 8 hours and still getting promted a bios password screen. :confused:

Maybe, ive done something wrong in the update process of this board as i have updated the IPMI firmware to version 3.4 before updating the bios.
 
More information after contacting the supermicro support:

It is an OEM board with the name:
X9SCM-F-SM005
internal name at supermicro:
MBD-X9SCM-F-SM005-B
but i do not know, who did manufacture this and who to contact to get the bios password.
