Do you have to run ECC ram in the SM X9SCM boards if you are using a E3-12xx processor? Will it work with non-ecc or is that only with the i3 processors?
It will not work with non-ecc. Further, it will only work with SPECIFIC brands of unregistered ECC ram which is hard to find. I went through this nightmare about bought 2 sets of non working ram before I got the right stuff. Use the 'tested memory list' from their website and ONLY get exactly the ram listed.
