X850XT PE Questions

Hey, I just got my X850XT PE from my 9800XT and i have a few questions

My Aquamark3 score didnt improve much, i went from 45k to 55k, is that about right?
( i have a athlonxp 2500+ socket a @ 2.4ghz )

My 3DMark05 score went from 2,900 to 7,000, seems alright to me

One of my big questions though is how do i get VIVO to work? I plugged in the adaptor in the s-video port and i plugged my PS2 in the "In" slot, but how exactly do i get the display on my monitor? I installed the Driver and Control panel and left off the "Catalyst Control Center" and all the other stuff, do I need to install something else to get it to work?

Another thing is I cant get an overdrive tab, from what i heard it's supposed to be an option like on the 9800XT, but it's not there.

When I turn on my comp the fan spins up pretty quick then goes back down, is there a way to run it full speed? Would i want to? I plan on overclocking it after i get everything squared away.

I think your processor although overclocked highly is a bottleneck...

BTW what drivers are you using? The overdrive tab for my X850XT didnt show up in 5.2 and 5.3's

Version 5.10, drivers and control panel installed, nothing else, i thought it came with the control panel though.

Rather than Start a new thread I thought I might ask the same question as the OP in this post a couple of months back.

I pluged in the adapter in the port on the back of the card and put a Video RCA cable in the "monitor out" cable and pluged it into my tv's Video 1 slot. But nothing happens, just a line of static on the TV.

I opened up CCC and noticed that the tv was detected under the monitor management screen. But it's disabled, I hovered over the TV and a pop up info box came up telling me to right click on the icon and enable it. But I can't right click it, it won't let me.

I want to have my TV act as a display of what is on my monitor.
Is that at all possible?

wtf???? 7000 on your 3dmakr05 score at stock on a barton 2500? you mustve read it wrong...especially with such low aquamark....

Yeah I got 7168 in 3D Mark 05... 2.6ghz Opteron.. 1GB RAM.. and the card is clocked to 600/600...

Aquamark is alot like 3dmark01 which means cpu, mem speeds, timmings all matter where in 03/05 its all gpu mostly. In newer games that cpu will hold you back, but still should allow a nice increase in res, details and even some AA and AF :)

Yup, it's possible, I did this with the x800 in my sig. Under displays manager I think I had to drag the tv over or something to that effect. If you go to the display options area, there's a way to force tv detection, and then you may be able to right click the display to enable it if it's not being properly detected for some reason. Then you have to decide if you want to expand your desktop or mirror it (limited to 1024 resolution unless you want to pan). I found it useful for putting streaming video on that I was only partially interested in watching while doing other stuff on my monitor or playing something for somebody else so they don't have to huddle around the monitor. It works best for me in extended mode unless you want to game, then you have to set all of your games to 1024 resolution and set it to mirror.

yeh but look at your cpu...i get 6917 on my 3500@ 2.4 so i dont think a barton 2500 can get 7k...

The rest of you stay on topic.
This is about how to get multi displays to work, not your nice 3DMark scores.

just cause ur jealous ;) :p

Whoa. I'd like to see links for the 7K 3dMark 2005 score at stock settings, that's just nuts. My X850XT PE gets 6150 stock...

...thats at 576/630 its not stock-nice score tho :) especially for a pentium with an AMD youll hit over 7k easily

um generally it does...if you think about it as an unaccurate benchmark for gaming performance...i.e the higher the socre the better your comp will run games...which is generally true

x850xt > 6800 U
this is true for 3dmark05 and gaming performance

x1800xt(512) > 7800gtx (256)
this is true for 3dmark05 and gaming performance

etc etc...
