X850XT flash?

I've been wanting to flash my XT to PE speeds (sure I could overclock it but I'd much rather just flash). I've check some website and they seem to have some PE BIOS' however my card is a Connect3D and they don't have nay PE BIOS' so what would you guys recommend? Use another manufacturer's BIOS or just use a software overclocking utility and live with it...

i dont really know of a new bios but i just use ATI TRAY TOOLS from www.guru3d.com

I think its the easiest way and you can set profiles for overclocking so you can change the overclock profile with the touch of a button. I dont see any benefit to flashing bios so much b/c PE settings are only decently better. Most X850 XT can do a little bit better than PE. Like mine in my sig is a little above regular PE but makes about a 1-2fps difference, which can add up when you start tweaking other things like ram speed and CPU overclock.

I just flashed mine. It was easy as cake. I was not patient enough to always run the stupid tool in the tray and overclock it that way, so i flashed it.

I used the standard ATI X850XT PE Bios from http://www.techpowerup.com/bios/

Depending if you have a AGP or PCI-E card, just pick the one that suits you.

After that, I used the Flashrom 2.40 from the bottom of that page, booted into dos with a disk and flashed away. No probs ever since.

PS: As always with Bios flashes, there is a certain danger to lose your card if something goes wrong. Also make sure you card can handle the higher speeds.
