x850Pro install problem

the 10.2 Legacy Drivers dont see the x850pro, the drivers on the CD do, but its also the original x850pro release drivers lol. Anyone got a source for previous Catalyst Drivers, AMD doesnt seem to list previous released drivers
 
Hmm, what do you mean when you say it doesn't "see" it?

The 10.2 drivers definitely should work with that card, I have an X850XT and an X800XT-PE both running using that legacy driver.

You could always try adding in support for your card manually.

When the 10.2 legacy drivers are extracted, browse to this folder:
C:\ATI\Support\10-02_legacy_vista32-64_dd_ccc\Packages\Drivers\Display

In that folder you will find two other folders. In each of those two folders there is an INF file. Inside each of those INF files you will see entries for many videocards, example:

"All-in-Wonder X1800XL" = ati2mtag_R520, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_7109&SUBSYS_03221002
"All-in-Wonder X1800XL " = ati2mtag_R520, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_7109&SUBSYS_04121002
"All-in-Wonder X1800XL Secondary" = ati2mtag_R520, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_7129&SUBSYS_03231002
"All-in-Wonder X1800XL Secondary " = ati2mtag_R520, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_7129&SUBSYS_04131002

Try to find the equivalent INF files in the drivers you've found that work, and see if you can find the entry for your card. Copy the information from the INF drivers that work and add it into the 10.2 INF files. The 10.2 drivers should recognize your card now. I used to run Catalyst Drivers on a FireGL and that is the method I used to add support for the card.

But it should recognize your card without the need to modify anything. Maybe you could give us a GPU-Z screenshot to see if there is anything odd about your card?
