In 3D games it hits a high of 86 degrees Celsius w/ Fan at 100%.
Idle in Windows it stays @ 50-54 degrees Celsius w/ Fan @ 15%.

Its a new card from Connect3d. ATI says it's "normal".
Should I be worried? Or should I get an RMA replacement for it?

I've got a Zalman VF700-Cu coming, but don't want to have to go through and remove/replace the fan if the card is faulty.

ive got an x800 xt pci-3 and i o/c it to x850 xt specs which is 520/540 and its gets to like 82 under load and like 47 in windows so i think its normal

You're good. If it gets above 90, you might consider some secondary cooling solutions.

You COULD reseat the heatsink with some AS5, most of the X850s idle in the mid 40s, but it's still okay temps. I would only do the AS5 as a last resort (I think it voids your warranty)

i noticed my card gets pretty hot also. but if thats normal then im gonna keep it where its at. i hate taking the stock HSF off of my cards. i was ready to put it under some watercooling. what's weired tho is that this card does not control its fan very well. under full load it gets really hot and the fan stays at its same RPM as if it were idle.
