X850 Temps **

There is no way it is really that low.
I have a X850XT-PE and the difference isn't that much over your XT and My idles are in 45-55c range and under load it is 70-80c.

I would think your getting incorrect #'s

I never did check my load temps, but my idle is always around 36-40C. You can check the temp with ATi's driver if you have the CCC installed. That's what i'm using to check mine.

My X850XTPE also idels in the high 40's to mid 50's. Hmm, maybe the PE's just run hotter than the non PE since they're clocked higher? Try to oc it to PE speeds and see what happens.

unless your running the fan at 100%, i dont believe your temperatures are that low with the stock cooling

Stock heatsink, stock fan speed, stock speeds. 24C (75F) room temp, x850 idle of 36C at the moment.

My A64's idle is 33C. Stock heatsink/fan and speed with that too.

I have 5 fans cooling my system and quite a lot of room in my case, so yeah.

mine is idling at 39ºC right now with the fan speed set to 50%. Mine's set to raise fan speed to 100% when the GPU core hits 65ºC

it is entirely possible with adequate air flow in your case.

(Visiontek x850XTPE)

My X850XT at stock speed, idles at 46C, case temp is 29C

how do you set the fan speed on an X850XT I can't find it in the CCC. Thanks!

Mine idles at around 36degrees and hits a max of 61/62 when playing FEAR for a few hours...so i think his numbers could be correct if he has good air flow and cooling...my cooling is quite gd and im on the stock fan (sapphire card) oh i have the x850xt pe.

you should be able to do it in ati tray tools-go to hardware-overclocking/settings-fan

wouldnt make much difference really...with the same cooling, mayb around 3 degrees max...

My ATI X850XT overclocked to 540/600 idles at 36 and maxes out at 62. I have an ATI Silencer 5 on it with AS5. I left the fan set on stock settings also. That's great if your temps are that low.

Using ATI tool I have OCed the Card to 615 / 600 stable and as long as I have the (loud ass) fan running at 100% my temps don't go past 45 idle and 70 load.

DANGER STORY.
My OCing crashed the comp and when I got it restarted I went back and changed the speeds down a bit to 600 / 600 and ran artifact check in ATI tool.
I went to the washroom and came back just in time to notice the temp monitor in tool showing my GPU temps hitting 80c, shortly after my Aquagate starts to beep warn me that the temp prob on the GPU HSF has hit over 55c and is almost at 68c.

By the time I ran over and shut off the 3D window, tool reported 89c on my chip  and 76c on the HSF :( Luck was with me cause if I hadn't come back to my room I am sure my chip would have kept rising in temp and burned out.
The reason... after the crash, my custom Fan speeds were strangly redone so that it was like this:
0c______5%
95c_____100%
95c_____100%
95c_____100% and so on.
So the fan wouldn't have even tryed to save my GPU from all that heat till it hit 95c.
Let that be a lesson to you all, after a OC related crash, make sure your Fan settings are still intact.

For all of you guys experiencing higher temps than mids 30's at idle, you may want to reseat your heatsink. There is quite a bit of information going around in the forums about the X850's HS not fitting like it should. My personal experience with my X850XT PE was this, out of the box my idle was 48c and then hittings 80+ under load. I have an Aspire X-Navigator case with 6 intake and exhaust fans so airflow is not an issue. The first time I reseated the HS I used a minimal amount of Artic Silver like instructed and my PC locked up after my GPU hit 104c, not good! Then I realized that the HS was not making 100% contact with the GPU so I added a liberal amount of Artic Silver, enough to completely fill in the gap. Made all the difference in the world, my temps are now 34 idle and 68 load. Apparently the two mating surfaces are not parallel as they should be and only about 10% of the two surfaces were making contact. I will be replacing the stock cooler with either a Zalman or the ATI Silencer.

I have great airflow in my case, and my x850 xt idles about 2-3 degrees above ambient temp. Right now the house is 30c and my idle temp is 32c. Underload it gets up to 55c and this is stock cooler.

Mine are the same as this guys.

I'd recommend anyone experiencing high load temps to buy a Zalman VF700 GPU cooler. Recently put one on my X850XT PE, it dropped the temps from 45idle 80load to 35idle 59load....thats with the card OC'ed to 606/630. Most impressive i reckon.

Also I had my card hit the 108c mark under (Doom 3) load in summer before changing from the stock cooler. She's still running like a dream....tough suckers these cards :D

I don't like that Zelman, I don't think they look nice.
I would rather use Artic Silencer 5.
But yes, they cards are [H]ard.

Anyone who has a Sapphire X850XT-PE, can you clock the memory past 600 with out crashing?

I can't clock my DDR3 past 600MHz
The GPU seems like it can keep going, but the memory can't.
