X800XT vs. X800XT PE

Hi, I just recently purchased a Powercolor X800XT OEM. It has 1.6ns ram but is clocked @ 500/500. The question i have is, should i be able to clock to PE Speeds without difficulty? I've been researching it a bit, but i can't find any specific information on the card's overclockability.

Just download ATI Tool and test the core and memory for max overclock. Easy as pie. :)
 
Really you should try for yourself. It's not hard. If it doesn't work its not likely to damage the card.

Remember the X800XT-PE isn't clocked that much higher than the X800XT is. Reaching those speeds shouldn't be difficult.
 
Yea the PE was just a press-impressor whent he 6800 Ultra Extreme came out. Nothing special, the regular is just downclocked about 25MHz on both core and memory.

20 on the core, 60 on the memory.

Other way around. The PE came out first. Then nvidia announced a UE that suddenly, then they said they never was officially announce.
 
Right the UE was announced after everyone found out the X800XT-PE had as much if not more power than the 6800Ultra. Then the UE became one of those products that acheived almost a mythological status.

They are seen about as often as bigfoot is. Yet almost no one actually has one.
 
I saw one on ebay, it came with a certificate from eVGA signed by the president signifying that it was real. Apprently they only made 2 of them a week and you had to win a drawing just to be elligble to buy one. It went for around 850$.
