x800xt problem. refreshforce doesn't work anymore

just reformatted and installed a fresh copy of winxp with sp2. but refreshforce will not work anymore.

also whats strange is my monitor(samsung syncmaster 700ift 17") won't install the driver i usually give it. everything was working fine with my radeon9700 pro, but now monitor driver won't install and refreshforce won't work.

refreshforce detects the refresh rates all wrong because i only have default monitor driver, but i set them to what they should be and it still doesn't take effect. any ideas?

edit: using the beta 8.07 drivers though, going to try regular 4.9's

edit2: tried 4.9, still the same thing. windows reports that its at the correct refresh rate, but i can tell by looking at it and the monitor control panel that its 60hz
 
tried just having the VGA connection instead of the DVI to vga. but no go. i also did another format, reinstall of windows, but it didn't work.

im stuck at 60hz on all resolutions
 
I don't know, I use RivaTuner for a refresh rate fix, you might want to try that. I believe it also has a custom driver creator for monitors so you can set proper refresh rates per resolution.
