Dam I must say this is one bad ass card :D I had a 6800GT and hated it with all the game skipping and bull shit that came with it just to get the bugs out :( Poped this bad boy in and not a single problem at all and all my games are just kick ass. :eek:
 
Glad you like your card. I haven't had any stuttering or hicups at all either. Which alot of people in the Nvidia camp complain of. :D

Had mine a few days and haven't been overly impressed with it, at least not after reading other folks' feedback. I'm running both Far Cry and BF1942 at 1280x960 4xAA/8xAF and Doom 3 at 1280x1024 Ultra, and it takes frequent dumps in each. I figured 1600x1200 with AA/AF in D3D games would be a walk in the park, but not so.

Taking dumps? What do you mean, crash to desktop, blue screen...?

Far Cry and Doom3 at 1600x1200 with AA and high AF are goingto kick any card's ass that is out today. They are pushing the envelope in graphics. I think you are asking too much from the current vid cards...

Try Far Cry at 1280x960 with 2x AA and 4x AF, everything to "very high" in game and the ATI control panel set to "high quality". Far Cry should run buttery smooth and look fantastic. I play Doom3 at 1280x1024 "high quality" with 2x AA and it too is fast, smooth, and fluid. GREAT looking, the parts you can see anyway :p

Just for reference, what are you 3DM03, 3DM05, and Aquamark3 scores? I get 13,162 pts in 03, 6,247 pts in 05, and 70,597 in Aquamark3....
 
I think he means that it takes "frame rate dumps".

Enjoy that X800PE! I've had mine sitting on my desk for a week because my PSU took a dump. :(
 
"Dumps" as in slideshows. I haven't run 3DM05 or AM on it, but the all-stock 01 and 03 scores are 25,722 and 12,222.

now i tell u this is some kick ass card .. i tried nfsu 2 on full and it's unbelievable what i have been missing out ...

I'll just pitch in here and say that it IS one hell of a card. I'm obliterating all my benchmarks I had hit with my 450/1300 6800GT, and there's still a LOT of work left to do with the card. ;)

I think I need to install FarCry again just to see how it runs with AA/AF turned up....cus it was kinda "funny" with the GT at times. :p

One thing I can't get over is how ridiculously smooth Unreal2k4 is at 1280x960 4xAA/8xAF flying around in a Torlan Onslaught game......silky smooth, and that goes double time for anything else other then onslaught....it's sooo nice.

Believe it or not this card is actually taking your cornelious away from his benchmarks from time to time to play some games. :p

God dammit i know what you mean ... and if you haven't tried nfsu2 ( need for speed underground 2) demo yet then you should head over to eagames and d/l it ... this video card KILLS it ... i have it MAXED out and not one problem ... I'm in love ... :eek:

That's not surprising, the extra fill-rate you've got over that 450MHz 6800GT is almost equivalent to the fill-rate of a Radeon 9800 Pro!! :eek:

Those volt-modded X800XT-PE's sure do fly though. Some of the clocks they hit are insane. :D

Shit man yeah, I've been playing the hell out of that demo. I've only got a 17" CRT, but 1280x960 with everything maxed at 4xAA/8xAF and it just rips through the game....I can't wait for NFSU2 to actually be released. :D

Obviously it's not ALL fillrate related, but I actually had my multitexturing up to about 7000MTexel's in 3DMark2001 whereas my fillrate (so far) with the XT-PE is about 8500. Still a nice jump, but that GT actually did pretty good.
 
Heh, I know what you guys are talking about. I just re-installed FC with the new patch. I'd run through it before with a 9700p and it was good and all but alot of sacarfices had to be made to get decent frames. With the 800xtpe, holy shit...its like a whole new game @ very high and 4xaa, I got so excited I went and woke the GF up to show her.

the funny thing is .. I did the exactly same thing to my gf ... she was playing SIMS 2 when I had my fx5200 .. :eek: and then when I installed the pe ... I was like OMG ... it's smooth .. she's like what are you talkin about .. it was fine before .. I was like NO ... I went to the settings and everything was automatically maxed out .. I was like LOOK ... they changed it and maxed everything out as soon as they detected that my video card could handle it .. she was like .. :rolleyes: it was like this before ...

they just don't get it .. do they ?

It's true .. men are better when it comes to visuals .. women are good with words ... no wonder they don't like the word bitch :p
