i have been waiting for my order (from pc connection) for what seems like forever. and i just got an email today saying ATI "dertermined they cannot make enogh chips and are DISCONTINUING THE PRODUCT"...why am i supporting them again?
 
Here is part of the email that I got from PC Connection saying the same thing:

Below is the reason we got from ATI regarding the cards:

ATI Radeon X800Pro has all the same features as the Platinum
version, but the X800Pro does have a little slower clock-speed*.
X800Pro is equipped with an additional VIVO feature
(video-in/video-out) whereby you can actually plug in a video camera or
out-put to your TV. This is a feature that was not originally included in
the X800Pro and is now included at no additional cost.
*The X800Pro and the X800 Platinum are manufactured from the
same chip. The difference is when the chip comes off the assembly line if
the chip exceeds the bench mark of clock speed of 520e/575m than it is an XT
Version. All other boards have to achieve the bench mark of clock speed of
475e/450m to be considered an X800Pro. For every (100) X800Pros ATI makes
they only get (1) X800 XT, hence they have determined they can not make
enough chips and are discontinuing the product.

Please let me know what you would like to do with this order. Thanks for
shopping with us, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have
caused.

NOT SURE IF ANYBODY ELSE IS GETTING THE SAME HARD TIME TRYING TO BUY ONE OF THESE CARDS ONLINE.
 
they also forgot to mention that the X800PRO only has 12 pipes and the XT has 16.
 
you better email them with a picture of you flippin them the bird and same OH HELL NO!!! :mad:
 
I don't think they're discontinuing the XT. Supposedly, the number of XTs available is supposed to pick up in the next few months... but who really knows.
