X800XL vs X850Pro

I will be upgrading my video card soon, and I'd like some opinions on which is the better card for the money.

They both have 256MB RAM and the 256-bit memory interface, but the X850 has a slightly higher core and memory clock.

Is the difference worth it?

Go with the X800XL, it has a 16 Pixel Pipeline. The X850 Pro has 12.

That's a bit outside of my price range. I've only got $300 to spend.

I recently saw a low priced X850Pro at monarch don't be fooled though, your better off getting the X800XL.

wonder if the 850pro will softmod to 850xt ?

anyways considering the price--i would say the x800xl for $250 retail is the better deal .

i have my "OLD"-- x800pro flashed to xt only has 12 pipes though-- but it can overclock to 560/560 --seems super strong-(same speed as 850pro i think)-even with only 12 pipes .
but if the 800xl had been around at close to the same price i would have gotten it instead .

i suppose what we want is the x850XT for the price of a 6600--LOL yea !!

i built a computer the otherday with the 800xl -- i think the textrues look a little better than they do on my pro--but the grass is allways greener on the other side !--LOL
