I also have athlon 64 3000 a corsair 512 and kingston 512, while playing counter strike source it stutters alot and sometimes drops below 40 fps, is it just me or should it not be doing this, could this be due to not completely removing my old nvidia card stuff off my comp, what sort of tweaks can be made so i'm getting my money worth with this card that I hear dominates
 
This always makes a big difference in CS:S, in the console type timerefresh. You usually get 5-10% better performance
 
try redoing your drivers using the video card help thread and then try upping your page file to 800 starting out and 2 gigs tops.

right click your my computer icon on the desktop and go to properties go to the advanced tab (this tells you waht it does under vitual memory), performance settings to the advanced tab look for the virtual memory section at the bottom and hit the change button, set it to custom size and set initial to 800, then max to 2000 then hit "set" and then ok your way out.
