Currently I am running with ati tools and Catalyst 5.8 drivers a Core Speed of 418 and Mem of 511. Fan running at 69 percent I am getting idle ambient temps at 39c and GPU temps of 42C and staying in that range for the most part.

Is this to much for the card? How much life expectancy do i wear off using these settings and any reccomendations? I am getting no artifacts and can play HL2 CS:S fear ut2k4 flawlessly.

System Specs
AMD XP Barton 3200 512kb L2
Gigabyte GA-7N400 Pro 2
400FSB.
1 Gig of PC 3200 Corsair Value Ram and a 256 Stick of PC 2100 in dual channel

I have always gone Nvidia always but I have read so many good things about this card and I just want it to last me a while :(
 
i think its fine. my asus x800xl non-overclocked is at 46core, 43mem @ idle with 20% fanspeed. when i put my fan speed about 70% i get similar temps than yours minus 2-3 degrees (it has copper heatsink & i put as5).
