X800Pro ->X800XT flash possible with PCI-e?

I flashed the bios of my X800Pro card with a X800XT bios and it now has 16 funcional pipelines. I want to do the same with a PCI-e card. Is that possible?

However the success rate of modding non-VIVO cards is pretty low. Plus the proceedure is somewhat risky.

90% it will work, if it doesnt flash back.

the hardmod? i thoght the flashing didnt work on LASER cut cards for sure.....thats the reason for the laser cutting.

About 50% succes rate. (This speculation made by reading all the "hardmod threads/polls" in the forums and my own experience/friends)

the proceedure is somewhat risky.

I did 2 hardmods (one succesfull) and see no risk. The card which failed in opening the 4 extra pipes still works perfect, even when i left the silver-lacquer on it (which i did, it's still on).

Procedure:

Remove the cooler (3 screws), at the right above the GPU core you'll see these 4 points:

With a sharp point of a knife, scrape away very carefully the coating off point 1 and 4 (till you see bare copper). You don't have to scrape between the points, just scrape the points itself till they become shiny (bare copper). Then apply some silver-lacquer from point 1 to 4, connecting them. (this is the hardest thing to do, the points are VERY small, so don't paint your whole card silver .Definately avoid contacting other points. Only 1 and 4)
Put the cooler back and boot your system. In Windows with Ati tool you can see if the mod is succesfull (you see 16 pipes). If not, no harm, the card still works perfect. If succesfull, reboot and flash your card with a XTPE bios.

Does anyone have a X800XT VIVo PCI-e BIOS for me? I am getting the 800Pro some time this week but I don't have a X800XT PCI-e card ready to extract the bios from.

I managed to find a X800XT bios and it works. I have 16 active pipelines and as far as I can see no artifacts.

But the card has 2.0ns memory so I cannot get to XT-PE speeds. But 500MHz is enough for me.

Not always a fact. I have a 'normal' X800Pro non Vivo (AGP) with 2.0ns mem, which had a succesfull hardmod, running on 560/575 stock cooling & artie free.

It's nice to see that your 2.0ns mem card can be softmodded too, despite some early rumours which said they couldn't.

a conducting silver-paint, it's used for repairing broken electric circuits on pcb's. But at Hallford's you can buy a pen which contains some kind of conducting stuff too, used for repairing car window heaters. This seems to do a good job too for a hardmod.
