I have Sapphire x800pro VIVO, and I want to flash it to xt. So I do that, but when I come back in Windows I see core/ram 500/500 but only 12 pipelines in Atitool. Is there way to unlock 16 pipelines?

U have no clue


You need to see if your card has the lazer cuts on the chip.If they are there it wont mod to 16 pipes.You might be able to connect the bridge like we used to on the amd chips.

to the dumbass that posted the eyes the sapphires are the only cards that mod 100% and work.

They were all modding so sapphire is now lazer burning the chips not to mod.

:O My BBATI modded just fine with a bios flash =p

BTW check if you have 1.6NS ram
if you do, even if it doesnt unlock you can oc that ram =D

Yes I have 1.6NS ram.
 
Did you reinstall drivers after the flash? If not, try it.

Lasercut doesn't damage anything - it just disables the pipelines. Hardmod, if successful, + flash should work. X800pro VIVO with defective pipelines is very rare.

From what I remember u need to flash the gigabyte BIOS to unlock the extra pipes, then the ATI BIOS for better overclocking results....
 
No, use guide at http://www.techpowerup.com/articles/overclocking/vidcard/100. It's an easier way to accomplish the same thing on a (AGP) VIVO and has worked perfectly for me and countless others.

I'm not sure if you've disclosed which type (AGP/PCI-e) of card you have. Apparently ATI is using laser cut on PCI-e VIVOs to prevent the easy unlock with bios flash that we've enjoyed on the AGP cards. Those cards will not unlock with just a bios flash.
 
My 16 pipelines are already unlocked. Is there THAT much of a performance gain in flashing up from the x800 pro? I'm not talking a 3DMark number. Is it a noticeable gain?
 
In some instances, yes. Some games allowed me to raise the resolution and/or filtering a notch w/16 pipelines enabled. FC and NFSU2 were both noticably better for me at 16p. Some other applications didn't show noticable improvement - measured frame rates increased, of course, but no real impact on playability.
 
Are the x800xl using the same ram is the pros?

If they are just get a x800xl for 278 and flash it.The xl already have the 16 pipes open.They just need a better hs on the core to clock higher.
 
XL and proVIVO (PCI-e) use 2.0 ns memory, proVIVO (AGP) uses 1.6 ns, though I think rare exceptions have been reported.
