ive lately been considering getting a new graphics board or a new screen..im leaning towards gfx board now cuz my 19" viewsonic crt can suffice for quite a while still. basically i was leaning towards evga 6800GT but im not so sure. the games im planning on playing are WoW, FT, HL2/CS:S CoD:UO, among others. with CS:S out ive been wondering..is it true that the x800s actually did worse than the 6800GT in the CS:S demos? my 9600XT isn't cutting it in BFV, D3/FC demos..etc. i found last night that i can barely play BFV on 1024 w/ med settings and 20 bots offline. i was like
so needless to say im looking for a significant upgrade. i want to be able to play at 1600 w/ high settings and decent aa/fsaa etc and the 9600XT doesnt deliver the goods for newer titles consistently. im so confused on which is better..i've currently got an ATi and i really like it but i just cant bring myself to want the x800pros based on the reviews..am i missing something????!! plz help me =/ ..i need more info than what the nvidia boosters can give me =[
im looking to order from newegg..budget is no more than $400 +/- $30 (x800pro of some kind; the line im looking at as alternative to the GT). i also plan on ordering a new PSU from them to replace my cheap arse generic psu..im thinking that that'll run around 80-90 for the zalman 400W i was looking at.
anyway thx..any personal CS:S experiences or with the other games using an x800pro would be more helpful than the reviews..
