Quick question: which is better for the price

Celesta X800pro @ $533
Chaintech 6800GT @ $575

Prices are both in Canadian dollars and the shipping cost will be exactly the same.

Not sure what that is american, but I wouldn't pay over $400 american for either card. But between thse two, I'd get the GT.

Those cards are only $400 each here. But I've got both a X800Pro and a 6800GT and at stock settings the 6800GT hands the X800Pro it's ass in almost everything you can think of.

Overclocked to XT speeds the X800Pro doesn't improve a whole lot and certainly doesn't match the X800XT in speed due to having less pipelines. 12 vs. 16, so the X800Pro can NEVER match the X800XT in any situation. The 6800GT however performes virtually the same as a 6800Ultra when overclocked. They have the same core, and pipeline count.

So the 6800GT has about the same potential and more than the X800Pro. So stock or overclocked the 6800GT is the superior card for the dollar.

eh......the x800Pro's do beat the GTs in some games(but not many). Realy depends which one you like better. GTs don't perform that much better, because when you get that high up the ladder everything starts to look the same. get a GT if you want, or an x800 w/ VIVO. My friend just modded a ViVO into an XT and got it up to platinum speeds. nice:D

GT slaps around a Pro in games [seems it looses in 3dMark05 though so if you play alot of that you might want to get a Pro].

...yes that was sarcasm. :D
