x800pro is loud

i never realized how loud my ati x800pro was until i got all my fans on silent or near silent. Man the nexus 120 is quiet as hell and the x800pro has this clicking sound is this common, it almost sounds like my fan is about to die the same thing that happend to the artic silencer cooler on my previous 9800pro. is there a way to get this thing to quiet down besides being a new fan i dont wanna spend a dime on this setup since this is getting passed on to my relatives when i finally build my core2duo setup.

Not really. Replacing the cooler is your only bet.
ATI's coolers are usually very loud. The trend changed a little bit, when they launched the X1950 XTX, which cooler is not as loud. All the X1950 series of cards seem not to suffer from loud coolers, as much as the rest of ATI's offerings, expecially the X1900 series, which are loud, as a vacuum cleaner under load.
