I was thinking of getting one of these cards. I heard of people unlocking the extra 4 pipes and overclocking it to x850xt pe speeds. I've never overclocked any piece of computer hardware before. I would I do this?
 
The cheapest I could find one for was $260. Not a bad buy at that price for what you get if you can overclock it tho.
 
Ugh! I ordered an X800XL yesterday because they were out of stock of that card. Shiver me timbers!
 
hehe ya i was debating wheather to buy one at $200 myself, but I was too slow. I doubt i would have anyway because I have to upgrade to a pci-e mobo and new cpu at the same time, but it was still temping me. I am glad newegg made the decision easy for me.
 
Now if only Newegg would switch from the brown Nazi's (UPS) back to FedEx. I am so worried about the stuff I ordered. I hope when they bank the boxes off my door from 10 feet away like normal, nothing breaks. Why oh why did Newegg switch to UPS??? Whyyyyyyyyyy?!?!?

They were supposed to Auto Notify me. I did not receive any emails from the egg.
 
Think I'll wait til it's back in stock and buy one of these. Then I can sell my x800xl for $200 and it's a free upgrade :D

I'm with you with the UPS hating. I love Fedex and have become very accustomed to stopping by my local distribution center to pick up my packages after work (nobody is ever home during the day). Well, now UPS wouldn't let me pick up my package at their place. I had to call newegg, then call UPS and finally after 3 freaking phone calls I got them to take it off the truck so I could get it myself.

I've never been treated so rudely or dealt with such incompetence in my life. I'm thinking zipzoomfly may be seeing a LOT more business from me with their 2nd day free Fedex shipping.
 
well to answer the first post linky somebody made an automated flashing utility for ease.....as far as the whole newegg ups thing i have recieved 5 shippments in the last few weeks all from fedex...i saw they added ups but only as an option...why not just select fedex it was like a $.50 difference but i paid more and went with fedex....
 
UPS is their primary shipper now. UPS is automatically selected and is their cheapest option. Fedex is now like $3-4 more and it breaks my heart. One of the reasons me and my friends liked Newegg so much and always bought from them was that they offered cheap Fedex. They really screwed the pooch this time. Oh well, when they realize they are losing a lot of money on DOA monitors, power supplies, printers, computers, and anythign else that is easily broken by abuse, they will probably go back to fedex.
